I registered this great program recently and so far I've got only one small problem. I'm using Gigabyte Geforce 6600GT (AGP). After installing latest Forceware (official beta 84.25 but it probably happens also with official WHQL 84.21) driver, the fast writes are disabled by default. Luckily I can turn them on using PowerStrip AGP settings Wink But the problem is that when I resume from S3 standby (the state when computer is turned off; only memory is powered) fast writes are disabled and I need to check "fast writes protocol" again. Strange thing is that this doesn't happen when restarting PC - in that case the setting is preserved. I wouldn't mind too much about fast writes but I need to keep it enabled as it helps to resolve some Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion issues. Thanks for any tips/answers.

I am aware of that issue: PowerStrip only configures AGP *once*, when it initializes. You don't need to reboot, but if you restart PowerStrip, you'll find it is automatically reconfigured.

I'll look into resetting this after resume.

Sorry for posting again so soon and bothering you but I just wanted to ask whether this issue is actually "fixable"? It's not really a big deal (I just check fast writes after every resume and I'm done) but still it would be nice to have this done automatically Wink

I think it is fixable, and though I haven't looked into it yet, I should be able to within the week.

I found this post because I just did a Google. I have the same (or similar) problem, fast writes get disabled after resuming from S3 Standby.

I have P4P800 Deluxe and XpertVision 6600GT AGP. Drivers are 81.98.

I am pretty sure my old card (FX 5700) didn't do this.

Any ideas?

If you download the latest beta from here, I think you'll find your AGP configuration is restored after resume.

You do need to set the following option:

1. PowerStrip menu > Options > Preferences
2. Check "Force adapter resets"

No solution for me... although after some benchmarks, fast writes makes no difference to performance.

Also, I installed Powerstrip about 2 years ago, just to test something.

2 years later, entech.sys service is STILL on my computer. I just discovered now and removed it... lol. Getting a little sick of software which leave services on your computer and running after you uninstall them!

PowerStrip does not install entech.sys - that is a device driver included with 3dmark and some other benchmark programs.
